I am a 20 year publishing veteran who loves helping writers carve pathways for beautifully written books to reach all of their readers.

I enjoy working with authors on all phases of book development, from idea to book tour.

I bring along a technical knowledge of best practices (granular and big picture) from the publishing industry.

My top genres are fantasy, adventure, science fiction, interactive fiction, YA and children’s. I have a passion for world building, origin stories, nonlinear and episodic stories, and RPG/interactive.

My favorite books to edit are books that uncover a truth and promote characters and stories of diversity and progressive change.

I’ve worked with stories that are very niche and on projects that are very mainstream. I enjoy the tensions and challenges of both.

Mostly I revel in the gift it is to help creative people develop stories they’ve wanted to tell all of their lives.

Whether these stories reach readers as books only, or become films, or exist only as rare chapbooks in the slipstream—I value every book I’ve helped reach its audience in the world.

Here are a few of my favorite projects.

“The best [editors] are like trampolines: your writing bounces back at a higher elevation than you could have managed on your own.

Most are like safety nets: they catch the mistakes that could embarrass you down the line.

The worst are like fly paper: the work goes back and forth and struggles to go anywhere.

I’ve never had the misfortune of working with a flypaper editor, but you were the only one who was a trampoline, and I’m grateful I had that experience!

Thank you once more for what turns out to be a rare experience.”

There are many reasons a book can meet a reader where they are.
